About the College
Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College was originally founded in 1936. Ed Lytle purchased the school in 1976, bringing an innovative, quality education program for those interested in the Cosmetology and Esthetics professions.
Following in her father's footsteps, Kathleen Lytle entered the world of Cosmetology. Kathy has been actively involved in the field for many years as a hair stylist, salon owner, guest lecturer, and platform artist. Additionally, a deep commitment to the betterment of the profession is indicated by participation in continuing education and accreditations.
The college provides separate classrooms for each of the classes offered. This includes separate freshman theory classrooms for Cosmetology and Esthetics, a fully equipped facial/esthetics salon, senior theory classroom, and a senior training floor (also known as the salon training floor). The salon training floor is equipped with dryers, shampoo bowls, individual training stations, and a makeup station.
Redwood Empire Beauty College also provides an extensive laboratory supplied with professional products. The college is approximately 8,000 square feet and furnishes all equipment, as mandated by the Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology, to serve an average daily attendance of 80 students.
