Esthetics
Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College's dynamic Esthetics Program offers the best education available. Our text book, Salon Fundamentals for Esthetics by Pivot Point, a world leader in beauty/cosmetology education, utilizes the very latest research into how learners learn, making the material easily understood. It follows the history of beauty and makeup on into the latest advances in skin care.
Training You Will Receive
An airy classroom environment with its Zen accents sets the stage for your educational journey. Our Tuesday through Saturday schedule allows you to receive the state-required 600 hours in 5-6 months of well-designed curriculum. You'll learn microdermabrasion, various facials including massage techniques that clients look for, face and body waxing and other forms of hair removal, plus makeup application. You will learn skin analysis, anatomy, physiology, product chemistry and more.
What You Will Learn
Once through the primary training, you'll divide your day between theory and hands-on training. We are proud to offer Dermalogica and Murad Professional skin care lines in our salon. We also provide MAC makeup in the Esthetics makeup kits. We have salon clientele, allowing our students hands-on training to practice your skills. And when there's down time you'll spend some class hours giving and receiving services from classmates. You will be trained on equipment usage, customer service, product sales strategies; skin care business basics; and career development and guidance.
Hands-on Experience
Our small class sizes allow for plenty of one-on-one interaction both in the classroom and on the salon floor. We invite guest speakers in to expose our students to new product lines and technology. Small class sizes also make possible field trips to MAC in San Francisco, where you'll enjoy a student discount that allows you to build on the MAC makeup kit you receive when you begin school.
State Board Training
To ensure you are prepared for the State Board exam, you will participate in a mock State Board test given by our on-staff state board specialist. Our pass rates are consistently among the highest in the state, an indication that our students are well prepared.
Where You Can Work
Options for skin care professionals expand daily. Many salons, day spas, skin care centers, hotel and resort spas, health clubs, cruise ship spas, wellness spas, plastic surgeons and dermatologists now employ Estheticians. As skin care retailing grows, more and more skin care and makeup professionals are also sought out for positions as sales consultants and experts in stores and boutiques. Still others head to Hollywood or New York to do makeup. Whatever your dreams!
Our innovative programs, founded in years of experience, are designed to lead you to success. Come and see what we're all about at one of our General Orientations, where we'll take you on a tour, talk about the industry and answer your questions. We'll even invite you to audit a class and see us in action!
