Redwood Empire Beauty College, Inc. was originally founded in 1936. Ed Lytle, Kathy's father and mentor, purchased the College in 1976, bringing an innovative, quality educational program for those interested in the Cosmetology profession.
Following in her father's footsteps, Kathy Lytle entered the world of Cosmetology. Kathleen has been actively involved in the field for many years as hair stylist, salon owner, guest lecturer, and platform artist. Additionally, both Ed and Kathleen have a deep commitment to the bettering the Cosmetology profession as indicated by their participation in continuing education and accreditations.
Following in his family's tradition, Austin, Kathy's youngest son, joined the REBC staff in 2010, with the same commitment to future hairdressers as his mother and grandfather.
Ed Lytle was an inspiration and mentor to many hairdressers now working as stylists and training tomorrow's future designers. Our industry is better because of his gift to us all. We hope he is proud of the legacy he continued from his own father and looks down with pride at the Lytle's family they started.
The college provides separate classrooms for each of the classes offered. This includes separate freshman theory classrooms for Cosmetology and Esthetics, a fully equipped facial/esthetics salon, senior theory classroom, and a senior training floor (also known as the salon training floor).
